Won driving; second and third the same. TAXATION began slowly, but gained rapidly when turning for home and, finishing with a great rush, got up to win in the last strides. LEMON SETH set a gcod pace and drew away after entering the stretch, hut was forced to yield right at the end. BARDALID ran well and finished fast. OVER SHOT and STONE BELL tired. BOOMERANG was a forward contender to the last eighth, where he quit suddenly. TRANQUIL was extremely fractious while at the post. PRINCE DIRECT, as usual, began slowly, but closed a big gap and was a fast-going second. LAWRENCE MANNING was saved in the early running and, when called on. barely managed to outstay FUROR. The latter showed the most early speed, but tired in the final eighth. CAR, after racing up Into a forward positicn, gave way. INSURANCE showed a flash, of speed then quit. LADY LH BAND set a fast pace to the last eighth, but tired and had to be hard-ridden to save second place. GRAYSON tired after looming up menacingly, but finished gamely. BILLY STAR set a fast pace, but readily gave way to the winner when challenged. JOHN S. REARDON was hard ridden and did his best. WYNNEWOOD collided with ABADANE at the start.
