BUOOKDALE began forwardly and was saved in closest pursuit for the first half mile, then raced into the lead after saving much ground on the last turn and outstayed BENIGNA. The latter fchowed the most speed and set a fast pace to the stretch, but began tiring and swerTing out in the last eighth. ANTIQUITY ran a good race and finished fast. AMITY CLAIM ran well and had no mishaps. BARLEYCORN showed speed, but tired. THE FENIAN was always far back. Scratched False Alarm, 112. PAUL MICOU began somewhat slowly, but saved much ground cn the turns and. finishing gamely, wore GUVNOR down steadily in the last eighth and outtinished him narrowly. GUVNOR ran a good race, but lost ground by being ridden wide on the stretch turn and tired near the end. CARNARVON set a fast early pace, but swerved out on the last turn and tired in the stretch. GOOD TIME closed a gap. DAN BOLLING ran a fast half and tired in the last quarter. BAYOUS was taken back sharply cn the last turn. REP wheeled at the start. The latter closed a gap from a somewhat slow start and was going fastest at the end. OUI OUI was a sufferer from interference and finished fast and gamely. COLORED BOY closed a big gap in the stretch. MUSKALLONGE ran well. MERCURY was forced back in the first quarter. COLONEL BAKER ran a fast half mile and tired badly in the stretch.
