For the fourth race Ocean Dream, a recent winner at this meeting, was thought to be much the best, being installed as the public choice, but she disappointed her admirers by finishing third, Paul Whalcy and Golden Dream fighting it out for first place, the former getting the verdict by a head after a long stretch duel in which the weights figured extensively in the final result. The winner had up the light impost of 96 pounds, while Ocean Dream was asksd to earn- 109 pounds. Golden Dream appeared the winner up to the last fifty yards, but tired suddenly, giving way right at the end. The finish of the fifth was almost a duplicate of the fourth, but in this case. Tax Man just lasted to get the judges eye, Montana Princess failing by inches after a sensational rush that ate up the leaders two-length margin like magic. Ten feet past the judges stand Montana Princess neck was clear of the winner. The latter was ihs popular choice, being out to place and show in the betting. Jockey Walsh had the leg up on Montana. Princess and her failure robbed him of the honor of riding half the winners of the card, he having previously landed Right and Tumble and Paul Whaley home victors in their respective races.
