Jlius Fleischmann, who is coming back to racing this year with a string Of imported jumpers, ! will race under the name of the Middle Neck 1 Farm. This is the name of Mr. Fleisch-manns estate at Port Washington, L. I., and I it is there that the horses are at this time under the care of Lieut. Thomas McCreery, who made the purchases abroad. The horses were carefully selected and each is a thoroughly seasoned performer of quality. Within a few days the string will be shipped to Aiken, S. C., where the work of fitting them for the year will begin. In this Lieutenant McCreery will be assisted by Winnie OConnor, the American jockey who rode with success in France after increasing weight made it impossible for him to continue in the saddle in this country. OConnor was engaged by trainer McCreery and came with him to this country. It is the intention of Mr. Fleischmann to have a steeplechase and timber course constructed at the Middle Neck Farm and this work will bo done under the direction of McCreery. While this course will be of great service in the schooling of the horses, it is also the present intention to stage amateur race meetings there each season. It is expected that the course will be ready for a day of invitation sport this year. While Lieutenant McCreery promises to be kept fairly busy with the horses of the Middle Neck Farm he will find time to take charge of the polo ponies of the American international team for the games this year. Ho will also supervise the training of the ponies of the army polo players and incidentally promises to come back to the saddle and ride in some of the races for gentleman riders. AVhile in the army Lieutenant McCreery I kept himself fit by almost constant riding and in addition to several endurance rides i in which he took part he rode in army steeplechases from time to timo and showed J army horses in the ring. ,
