FIRM FRIEND TO THE STUD SAX DIEGO, Cal., Feb. 12. Marvin Allen, wealth San Diego sportsman, has purchased ten acres of land at San Ysidro, a small village near the border, and intends establishing a breeding farm there. Recently he purchased at private sale the good horse Firm Friend, a son of Friar Rock and Bold ; Girl, from the California Stable and at the completion of the present Tijuana meeting i Allen intends retiring him to the stud. One of the first mares that Firm Friend will serve is Phedoden, owned by Allen, which has a, yearling by Atheling II. Allen is on the lookout to purchase several mares of choice breeding, which will go to the court of Friend Friend.
