OCEAN CUR15ENT, from an advantageous beginning, passed RUNLATHE when called on and, racing to the front after entering the stretch, gamely withstood the closing challenge of HERDSMAN. The latter was away poorly, but closed a big gap and was best. RUNLATHE showed the most speed in pacemaking to the last eighth, but tired in the final drive. PARNELL had no mishaps.
