BETTER LUCK raced in closest pursuit of the pacemaker until after entering the stretch, where he challenged, and under hard riding got up to win in the last stride. ItUNSTAR set a great pace and when BETTER LUCK drew up alongside of him fifty yards out attempted to savage him, which properly cost him the race. OSPKEY was badly outpaced during the early running, but came with a great rush through the final quarter and finished fastest of all. HILDUR steadily held his pjsition. ROUEN- raced to the front after racing a half mile and. showing much speed, stood a haul drive and held THE WIT safe through the final sixteenth. THE WIT after being forced back at the start and repeatedly shut off during the early running, finally found a clear path and, finishing with a rush, was slowly wearing the winner down. PLURALITY was a forward contender throughout and did his best. PRINCE DIRECT showed good early speed, but tired after going a mile and a quarter. BLACK THONG quit badly at the end. LITTLH BEACH closed a big gap and outstayed TRUSTY in the last strides. The latter, after dominating the early running, made a game finish IDA FRANCES came from far back in the final quarter. FIRST CALL also finished fast and gamely TUIiKY A. and MOTOR COP tired after being well up. FIGHTING COOK ran a bad race DR JOHNSON pulled up- lame.
