THREE STRAIGHT VICTORIES Cream Puff Earns Title of Juvenile Champion at Oriental Park. Huns Sparkling Race Tuesday, Coming from Behind and Scoring In Last Stride Track Improving. HAVANA, Cuba, March 18. All doubt as to the champion among the two-year-olds that have raced here this winter was removed this afternoon when Cream Puff won the first race, a dash of a half mile, for which she was an equal favorite with Dextrose. Cream Puff was ridden by O. Pernia and came from among the tailenders in the stretch run and. finishing with rare courage, got up in the final strides to beat Rosita by a head. Rosita was a half length in front of Wanderlust, the pacemaker. Cream Puff, a daughter of Old Koenig Alberta True, bred by Polk Laffoon, a member of the Kentucky Racing Commission, was making her third appearance on the tiirf today and her sensational victory marked her third straight success. When Cream Puff was crowded back at the start and taken up her chances of victory seemed hopeless. However, Pernia failed to be discouraged and at the opportune time called on the filly for a supreme effort and the daughter of game Old Koenig responded, as he did many times in the past, with a startling burst of speed that astonished the spectators. Great excitement prevailed when the filly finally caught the leaders and the crowd went wild when she got her head in front in the final strides. High winds, which prevailed all morning, dried out the track. While the going was not fast this afternoon, the track was in fairly good condition and with fair weather the course should be fast in a day or two. The special race between Marionette and Mountain Lassie will probably be run Thursday. La Luna made her opponents look cheap in the second race. She was ridden by H. Callahan and went to the front soon after the start. In the final quarter she drew away into a long lead and at the finish was ten lengths in front of Zunelle. TWO FOR CALL A II AX. H. Callahan landed his second winner of the afternoon when he rode Mabel Everest to victory in the third race. The winner made most cf the pace and lasted to win by a head from Dustman, which had been pulled up at the start. Dustman worked his way up on the outside and was catching the winner at the end. Phenol raced into a long lead in the early stages of her race and just managed to last long enough to stall off Black Watch II. Superior was third. The first horses were heads apart at the finish. Blazonry came from a long way back to win the sixth race. He was a trailer in the early stages, but gradually improved his position. Rounding the far turn he moved up stoutly and at the end, closing with a rush, got up in time to beat out Approval by a neck. Felix M. was a tiring third. Winchester was favorite in the fourth race and he led all the way to win from Pat Hampson and Medusa. The winner was extended to the limit to hold on to a slight advantage that he secured early. All through the last eighth he was tiring and under a hard drive to outlast Pat Hampson. The latter, after early contention with the leader, gave way to Medusa, but came again in the stretch and, after passing Medusa, threatened to wrest the lead from Winchester. He would have won in a few more strides.
