« SIR GALAHAD IH. DEFEATED SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. PARIS, France. April 7. — The running of tue Prix des Sablons at Longchamps Sunday featured the opening of racing for 1924 at the Bois de Boulogne course. An enormous crowd turned out and the weather conditions were perfect. Pierre Wertheimers Epinard was expected to start in the race, but was withdrawn. The race resulted in a victory for j H. Ternyncks Massine over St. Hubert II. | and Sir Galahad 111. | 1 The Lincolnshire Handicap winner ran a good race, but was tiring at the finish. The mile and a quarter of the Prix des Sablons is probably a little beyond his best distance. Massine is a four-year-old bay colt by Consols — Mauri. W. A. haulers Mandar. three-year-old son of Isard 11. and Mandragora won the Prix de Ferrieres. «
