HOW HAPPY WARRIOR DIED Fractured Vertebra Responsible for Death of Highly Valued Irish Stallion March 14 SPECIAL CORRESPOXDEXCE LONDON*, March 17.— A few further details are now available concerning the death of the young stallion Happy Warrior. On the morning of Friday, March 14, when the stallions attendant went to the horses box he found Happy Warrior unable to rise. A veterinary surgeon was hastily summoned. When first examined, it was thought the horsa was paralyzed. As developments occurred during the day it was apparent that the- horse was suffering from a fractured vertebra. He died at 7 :15 in the evening of March 14. When first discovered Happy Warrior was lying with his tail near the door and his legs near the wall of his box, a position into which he must have rolled. There was no sign of any struggle as if he had been "cast." He had been bred to a mare the previous day and finished up his feed that evening. Every one at Ballykisteen and many Irish breeders are keenly regretting the loss of Happy Warrior. E. E. C. 1 a
