SPANISH NAME closed a gaT and finished resolutely. BETTY MALONEY lost much ground on the last turn, but finished well. MIT was cut off when making a move at the eighth post. MARIE DATTNER quit. Won driving; second and third the same. LEATHERWOOD quickly raced into a long lead and, setting a fast pace, finished gamely, although tiring from his early fast racing. LUCKY ANTOINE was far back in the early racing, but began to move up on the last turn and, coming with a rush through the stretch, was gaining with every stride. IXUANNA also closed up some ground and finished gamely. LITTLE SMOKE tired after racing PARTHEMA into defeat. TULE began sideways and, forcing KUFIYA out with her, both were left. NKW BEAUTY set the pace fast and easily until passed by RADIANCY, then came again and finished gamely. JACQUES was outrun early, but finished fast and caught RADIANCY in the final stride. Won easily; second and third driving. DKLUSIVE, close up from the start, passed ED PENDLETON in the stretch, but had to be ridden out to outstay REBUKE. The latter was under early restraint and was taken back at the half, then responded willingly to hard riding in the stretch and was wearing the winner down at the end. FAIRWAY began well, but was outrun early and finished fast. EI PENDLETON showed speed and raced into the lead while going to the half, but tired bi.dly.
