OMAHA CONSIGNMENT HERE Stables of R. L. Baker and W. C. Weant Reach Hawthorne from Omaha Officials on Hand. The pretentious racing establishments of CoL R. L. Baker and W. C. Weant, Kentucky turfman and breeders, were among the first arrivals from Omaha, where the spring meeting of the Ak-Sar-Ben terminated Tuesday. Several other stables, including the second division of the C. B. Irwin outfit, were reported enroute and are expected to reach Hawthorne today. Col. It. L. Baker brought twelve horses, including Victoire, Treasurer and The Auracu-cain, which trio were nominated for the Independence Day Handicap, weights for which will be announced Saturday morning. Victoire will, perhaps, be the main dependence of the Baker Stable in the first stake event at Hawthorne, as the four-year-old has been showing a flash of the form that characterized his performances last year. The following is a complete list of the Baker horses: The Auracarian, Judge Pryor, Quince Garden, Treasurer, Keegan, Victoire, Rondelle, Pongold, Pif, Jr., Fair Orient, La-veria, and Jack Bauer. The stable of W. C. Weant consisted of ten horses, which were also campaigned on the coast and Omaha this spring. The following is a list of the Weant representatives : Moss Fox II., Lady Fox, Zillah, Ten Can, Elias O., Yalta, Top o th Morning, Lothario and War Winner. The official family of the Business Mens Racing Association is about completed and will busy themselves with the preliminary work incident to the opening next Thursday. Judge Joseph A. Murphy, who has been in St. Louis laying the groundwork for the resuscitation of racing at that point, returned yesterday to resume his task of completing arrangements for the opening. Herman Conkling, associate steward, came in from his home in Baltimore and John Carey reported from Omaha. Starter James Milton and S. C. Nuckols, who will serve in the stewards stand with Messrs. Murphy, Conkling and Essig, will arrive the latter part of the week. C. B. Irwin, Cheyenne turfman, sent a division of his stable to Hawthorne with the Baker and Weant horses, and the main division is expected to reach the track today.
