GRAND PRIX DE DEAUVILLE SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. DEAUVILLE, France, Aug. 2G. A. K. Macomber, in an effort to win the Grand Prix de Deauville, bought Stratherose from N. Ambatielos just before the race, but the American owners latest acquisition failed to finish in the money. The race was won by R. Filippis Swan Sea", a four-year-old son of La Farina Sweetie. J. Leonard Rep-logles Optimist was second and Sang Froid third. Seventeen started in the race. Conditions were extremely unfavorable, as the track was almost a quagmire.
