LITTLE CLAIR WINS AGAIN Scores Her Fourth Straight Victory in Dorval Closing Feature. Weather ricnslng for Final Days Jlaclng Autumn Meeting Under Adverse Conditions a Financial Loss. MONTREAL. Que., Sept 12. Little Clair won her fourth consecutive set of brackets and completed a double for the stable of C. B. Shafer. The fourth victory of the Huon filly came about in the Finale Pursa, feature of the closing program of the Dorval Jockey Clubs autumn meeting. Washington chased Little Clair closest over the finish of the mile. Poltova took third money from Wrack Kay. Sweep By was the other starter. Washington showed his usual high speed around the first turn and through the back-stretch but began to weaken on the second turn and Little Clair, which had followed the Ballot gelding closest from the start, began to cut down his lead. In the stretch she caught and passed him quickly and was under light restraint at the end. For the first time at the meeting the weather was pleasant but the track remained heavy from the rains that have been falling upon it for a week. The crowd was fair in size and the meeting goes into history as a financial loss to the promoters. Ttunchief made the pace in the opener but fell before the speed of St. Quentin in the final eighth mile of the five and a half furlongs. The J. M. Beamish gelding, was a length and a half in advance of the early pacemaker passing the finish line. Nebish finished third. Baker rode the winner. Mrs. T. J. Donohues Revolt was outrun in the early running of the second, another race at five and a half furlongs, but drew out in the stretch to finish two and a half lengths in front of Gold Crump which was a length ahead of Lydia Drew at the end. Lydia Drew made the pace but bled and quit in the stretch. McTague rode the winner. Tease was much the best of the starters in the third. Under perfect riding by Ambrose the Morris representative followed the pace of Maurice Mulcahy and drew away in the stretch eventually winding up with an eight length lead. Thessaly beat the others. Faith W. was third at the end of the three-quarters. Sister Josella and Dr. Charles Wells provided a thrill in the fourth when they battled through the stretch heads apart and the mare beat the hard luck horse by a nose at the end of three-quarters. Sister Josella belongs to C. B. Shafer and is trained by J. J. Duggan whose success of late has been almost phenomenal. Play On finished third to Sister Josella and Dr. Charles Wells. Jacques made all the pace in the sixth and got homo a head in front of Jocose his closest pursuer from the start. Rachel Potter finished third a length and a half behind the first two. Ticacey and Carry On also ran. McTague rode the winner which belongs to W. S. Murray. . A .
