CAMPANULA slipped through next to the. inside Tail and, wearing the tiring leaders down, got up to win in the final stride. WINE JUG raced into the lead and only succumbed right at the finish. EXIT was in a pocket behind the leaders until in the homestretch, but finished fast and got up to win in the finai stride. SISTER JOSELLA began quickly and, setting a fast pace, was hard ridden all of the last quarter, but tired at the end. DR. CHARLES WELLS came very wide when entering the homestretch and lost much ground, but finished witli a rush. DERELICT was pulled up at the start. PLAY ON ran well. BEN FRANKLIN saved ground on all the turns and was going very fast at the end. BUENA VISTA raced into a long lead in the first quarter, but tired badly. THORNDYKE wore ANNE down in the stretch. The latter was cut off by SWEEP BY at the eighth post. The latter began very slowly and tired after racing into second place. Overweight Thorndyke, 5 pounds.
