Won ridden out; second and third driving. REPARATION worked his way up on the outside, closed with a rush through the final eighth and was going away under pressure at the end. ANNA MARRONE II. displayed high speed from the start, raved ground all the way and held on with good courage at the end. SUNSPERO made a determined challenge at the eighth post, but tired at the end. FLUVANNA had no mishaps. H. T. WATERS began well and showed a good performance". FEYSUN had no mishaps. CYCLOPS could never get up. HONPLEUR showed good speed from the start, crossed over to the inside, .before the far turn was reached, caused a jam and saved ground for the rest of the way, holding his, opponents safe, to win easily. LEISCH ran well from the start, met interference, but saved ground and finished fast. GAY BEN closed a big gap and gamely earned third place in the last stride. BETTER TIMES was blocked at the eighth post after racing in closest pursuit of the leader. HUMORETTE ran out at the stretch turn. BLUE HILL was caught in the jam at the turn and lost his rider. STAR LORE began slowly, moved up steadily on the inside, slipped through on the stretch turn and, finishing gamely under pressure, got up in the closing strides. BLUE RIDGE followed the pacemaker closely, went to the front when well in the stretch, but tired right at the end. SENALADO moved up resolutely from a slow beginning and closed fast. BEATRICE showed good early speed, but quit badly. GOLDBEATER raced prominently all the way. SWOPE was kept close to the leaders, ran wide at the stretch turn and quit under pressure. LADKIN began slowly, but was quickly rushed after the leaders, then moved up on the outside of WISE COUNSELLOR at the stretch turn, appeared to have him in close quarters in the stretch run and stood a drive gamely to earn the verdict by a nose. EPINARD was away fastest of all, but was taken back and was bumped at the far turn, came to the outside at the stretch turn, closed with a rush and was going the fastest of all at the end and would have won with more alert riding. WISE COUNSELLOR set a terrific pace, saved ground all the way, but tired in the final sixteenth. ZEV began slowly and could never keep up. MY OWN and LITTLE CHIEF had no mishaps.
