BOWIES COMING MEETING Ambitious Stake Program and Generous Overnight Races Provided in Fall Program. -BALTIMORE, Md., Oct 20. Three 0,000 races and one of ,500, all added money, will constitute the stake program of the Southern Maryland Agricultural Association for the coming November meeting at Prince Georges Park, Bowie. The Bowie meeting will begin . November 17 and continue through to the 29 th. It will be the last of the big eastern meetings. Upward of 40,000 will be distributed among the competing horsemen. The stakes with 0,000 added to be decided are the Southern Maryland Handicap, for all ages, at one mile ; Endurance Handicap, two-year-olds exclusively, one mile, and the Thanksgiving Handicap, three-year-olds and over, at one mile and three-sixteenths. The ,500 stake will be the Prince Georges, for three-year-olds exclusively, at one mile and an eighth. The Prince Georges will be renewed on November 17, as the opening day feature ; the Southern Maryland on Saturday, November 22 ; the Thanksgiving Handicap on. Thursday, November 27, and the Endurance Handicap on Saturday, November 29. Entries for these races will be due Saturday, November 8. The program of overnight races will correspond as regards class with the stake program. Purses will range up from ,200. Ample provision will be made for horses of all ages and degrees of usefulness. Participants in the Bowie meeting, which : will follow the fall racing of the Maryland Jockey Club at Pimlico, will include many of the foremost stables of the country. Track superintendent Richard Pending has provided stabling for upward of 1,000 horses. Several hundred will be accommodated at Benning, fifteen miles away. Benning horses will be brought over from day to day in special horse trains by the interurban electric line, which renders admirablo freight and passenger service to the growing population living in southern Maryland between Baltimore and Washington.
