Max Hirs.ch worked Sarazen a mile this morning- as part of the geldings preparation for the task of carrying 126 pounds in competition with high-class three-year-olds in the Maryland Handicap on Saturday. R. Pierce had the leg on him with orders for an easy gallop. Following are the clockings of .the move: :2i, :48i, 1:01, 1:15, 1:41. As the winner of the International Special Na 3 was being eased up around the turn Hirsch was asked whether he had heard of the challenge of J. B. Gallaher. to race Chil-howee against Sarazen and Wise Counsellor in a sweepstakes at 0,000 a side. He said he had not and dismissed the subject with "They must think I got an iron horse. What do they want me to do, run him every- week? Hes got enough engagements now to keep Mm going until snow flies."
