HIDDEN JEWEL, close up from the start, tired slightly right at the end. PETER PIPER set a fast pace, but tired when challenged. ST. QUENTIN followed PETER PIPER closely to the stretch and appeared the winner when an eighth out, but tired. GYMKHANA was in close quarters most of the way and finished well. DRESS GOODS tired after racing ALEX WOODLIFFE into defeat. The latter quit after leading to the stretch. GAD ran a poor race. The latter was outrun early, but gained steadily in the stretch and made a fast finish. SENATOR NORRIS finisned with a rush after being last to the stretch. RETIRE showed much speed and raced CONTRACT into defeat, but could not withstand the winners challenge. CONTRACT began fast and made the pace to the last eighth, but .tired when challenged. FROSTY BOY saved ground on the turn into the stretch and finished close up. THE REAPER ran a bad race.
