1925 DATES FOR CLEVELAND Maple Heights to Open May 9 and Continue to May 30 Brooklyn Park Open From June 6-20. CLEVELAND, Ohio, Oct 21. S N. Hol-man, president and general manager of the Ohio State Jockey Club, following a conference with the directors of the Ohio State Jockey Club and Messrs. McGinty, Hayes and King, of the Brooklyn Jockey Club, announced their plans for the racing season of 1925. The spring meeting will begin at Maple Heights, being of nineteen days duration, from May 9 to May 30, Decoration Day. Brooklyn will follow Maple Heights with a thirteen-day meeting, beginning June 6 and closing June 20, after which the pacers and trotters will go into action. Manager Holman announced that the directors of the Ohio State Jockey Club had decided to increase the value of the Ohio State Derby, which had its inaugural this year, when Mrs. R. M. Hoots Black Gold captured it. For 1925 the value will be 0,000. In addition, manager Holman an- nounced that other stakes, ranging in value from ,200 to ,000, would be announced in due course. It was further decided to remodel the track and erect new cottage barns on the recently acquired property, to house forty horses to a barn. Work on the improvement will begin just as soon as weather will permit in the spring.
