At post 1 minute. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. SWORD set a good pace from the start and drew away into a long lead, but was kept under unnecessary hard riding for the final eighth. PENSIVE followed the winner closely after meeting with slight interference at the start and, finishing gamely, outstayed EAST INDIAN at the end. EAST INDIAN closed a big gap and finished with a rush. SCARE CROW was outrun, but raced gamely. IRENE SWEENEY quit badly. DEMIJOHN pulled up very lame. BEN WOOD stumbled at the start and fell. Scratched 78061 Conundrum, 101. AYISACK was restrained to the last turn and saved ground when entering the stretch and finished -with a belated rush. LEOPARDESS ran a good race all the way. LADY BELLE was always outrun. RIVAL refused to start. Won easily; second and third driving. STIMULUS displayed high speed in setting a fast pace from the start, raced JOE MARRONK III. into quick defeat and held ZUKER safe at the end. ZUKER raced close up to the winner and made a challenge while rounding the stretch turn, but was easily held safe. GOLDPIECE was fractious at the barrier, but ran well and finished gamely on the outside. JOE MARRONE III. showed early speed. BRIGHT STEEL was outrun. MODO was forced to come extremely wide when entering the stretch and finished fast. HIGH PRINCE closed a big gap and finished gamely. THE POET also closed a big gap and finished fast. SANDY HATCH showed the most early speed under restraint, but quit badly. CANO ran well. BLUE HILL quit.
