ANNUAL LEXINGTON SALE t Offerings Principally Yearlings That Had Been Broken Fifty-Seven Head Co for S,S50 Two-Year-Old, Mamoud, Brings the Top Price of Sale, r LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 18. The Kentucky Sale Company last night opened its annual breeders sale of thoroughbreds with the best attendance seen in Tattersalls for many years at this season of the year. The offerings were principally yearlings that had been broken and tried and the demand was surprisingly strong, for such youngsters usually are counted as in the discard. The top price was ,950. for the two-year-old Mamoud from the consignment of Mrs. Louise Viau, which went to R. L. Baker. The second highest price was ,800 for the yearling chestnut filly by Omar Khayyam from Maidens Ballot, which was purchased by Mrs. Henning Chambers of Louisville. This filly was first knocked down for ?1,800, but there were two claimants for the bid, so she was started again and brought an additional ,000. Mose Goldblatt got the filly by Omar Khayyam from the good race mare Follie Levy for ,600. The chestnut filly by The Manager Lilly B., consigned by W. S. Threlkeld, of Pleasureville, was knocked down to "Heine" Kavanaugh for ,050, and he also got a chestnut filly by Golden Broom Miss Ringlets, consigned by Miss Daingerfield, for ,600.
