Cherry Mal-lotte, favorite hunter and steeplechaser, owned by Mrs. Payne AAhitney. has been destroyed because of injuries which it suffered in an accident Before being retired several years ago, Cherry Mallotte won many events in hunt meetings and on the track under the colors of Mrs. AVhitneys Greentree Stable. Cherry Pie, holder of the American record for a mile on the fiat, was Cherry Mallottes first foal, by Chicle. From Cherry Mallottes first winnings in races Mrs. AAhitney made a trophy for her home and had inscribed on it the winnings of her favorite.
