Won easily; second and third driving. STATLER ran well in the going and, beginning -well, gained steadily and raced Into a good lead in the stretch. SPANISH ROSE raced forwardly from the start and made a game finish. LUGS was far back for the first three-eighths, but closed an immense gap in the last eighth and got up in the last stride for third place. QUOIN also closed a gap. MAMIR OJANE set a good pace to the last turn and tired in the stretch. VANISHING BOY and ROYAL DICK tired. BUOWNIE was far back for a half mile, then rame fast and tinished well. NAOMI G. ran a good race, but finished swerving all over the track. RESISTANCE ran moderately well. CANDY KID began fast, but was saved under restraint to the stretch, then passed OH SUSANNA when called on, but had to be ridden hard to outstay the fast-coming ALMADEL. The latter closed a big gap in the last quarter and was racing best at the end. ANNIHILATOU ran a good race, but tired near the end. STEP ALONG began slowly nnd closed an immense gap. KENTUCKY CARDINAL seemed unable to run freely in the going. SUPREMUS tired badly. Oil SUSANNA set a great pace and quit badly. BALBOA was always far back.
