MISS NANTURA took the lead from ZORRO after a head and had a battle for a half mile then hung to it resolutely when challenged again by ZORRO and finally by CONVENT. The latter was forced to race wide on all the turns and. finishing with a tremendous rush, would have won in another stride. ZORRO showed the most early speed and stuck to his task right to the end. MARSB JOHN closed up ground steadily from a slow beginning and was running fast at the end. BRANDEIS appeared unable to run well in the going. RCNBIVARI quit early. SLY FOX was on the inside and a forward contender throughout, and moTed up fast after entering the stretch, but was caught h-tween the winner and DOCTOR CORBETT and pinched out, forcing him to be taken up. after which he finished with a rush on the inside.
