LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS The opening of the Maryland racing season at Bowie, last Wednesday, and Huntington on Saturday, brought into action a large number of jockeys and from now on the battle for the riding honors of the year will grow in interest and intensity as the meetings progress. The best score of last week was that of A. Mortenson. who rode eight winners at Tijuana. W. Harvey, the star of the winter meetings at New Orleans, made an auspicious start at Bowie by piloting six winners during the first four days of the Maryland meeting.
