LEE 0. COTNER THE MAGNET ; Cynosure of All Eyes at Churchill Downs Sunday Morning — Slice Arrives. LOUISVILLE. Ky., April 12.— Lee O. Cotner was a strong magnet for the visitors and assistant trainer John Reed was kept i busy showing the colt and pointing out his many good qualities. Another Kentucky Derby candidate reached the battle ground when Slice, accompanied by the five-year-old Missionary and a two- | year-old colt, arrived from Miami. The horses are the property of 1* T. Cooper, j who races in the name of the Island Farm Stable and who purchased them and other horses during the Miami meeting. Five other1 horses belonging to Mr. Cooper arrived at the same time, but instead of being unloaded here were billed through to Maple Heights. Slice is a fine looking colt and well seasoned. It will not take long to get him in racing form. The stable of Carl Wiedemann, in charge of Tom Drown, is due to reach here Monday, while the donen horses that Mose Gold-. j blatt will campaign for Harry Payne Whit-, my are also expected Monday afternoon. D. Canfield, who has an Interest in some of the horses in the stable of Pete Coyne, j came from his home from Nashville, Tenn., ■ to look over the racers. Ed Trotter is a recent arrival from New Orleans. Most of his horses were wintered, at Douglas Park.
