PIMLICO TURF NOTES BALTIMORE, Md., May 7. Swopes race yesterday in the Bowling Brook was a splendid performance for a three-year-old. He was conceding no less than eighteen pounds to so good a horse as Rustic. L. A. Angevine, secretary of the Montreal Jockey Club, will be at Pimlico on Monday to confer with J. B. Carrfpbell, who will act as racing secretary at the Blue Bonnets meeting. It is said that steeplechasing will be eliminated at the Montreal meeting this spring. According to rumors David Giles will succeed Joseph McLennan as clerk of the scales and assistant to the secretary of the Canadian Racing Associations this year. Spaulding Lowe Jenkins, president of the Maryland State Fair, which operates the" Laurel meetirrg-, was a visitor. He arrived only a few days ap:o from England where he went to witness the running of the Grand National Steeplechase. Max Hirsch announced that Sarazen would be a starter in the Jennings Handicap, to be run at Pimlico on Monday. The Jennings is a dash of three-quarters and Sarazen will be meeting a worthy opponent in this fixture in Worthmore. a
