Won driving; second and third the game. FORK LADY ran a good and game race, forced JULIA O. along at a rapid pace into the home stretch and, taking the lead, outfinished BUTTERCUP in the final drive. The latter canie on the outside of the leaders when catering the home stretch and covered more ground than the winner. PHEASANT was forced wide while rounding the far turn and when coming into the home stretch. MAJUBA had no mishaps. WHATLL I DO began very slowly, but finished fast. LIEUTENANT SEAS led from soon after the start and. jumping in faultless fashion, raced far away in the first turn of the field, but was inclined to tire in the last quarter and was ridden out at the end to outstay RULLSEYE. The latter made a game challenge when going to the last jump, but tired in the last eighth. CARABINIER was far hack to the last mile, then closed a big gap. FLAMES set a good pace and drew away on the back stretch, but was tiling at the end. WHETSTONE was in close quarters next to the inside rail while going to the first turn and was eased up, then did not respond when her rider called on her. DR. OMARA ran well to the stretch. SENALADO began slowly and was outpaced in the early running, but worked his way up » on the outside and, after coining very wide when entering the home stretch, finished with a rush I I and was going away at the end. SCORCHER moved up with a good burst of speed on the turn out of the back stretch and. taking the lead, drew away after the far turn, only to tire badly near the end. CANDY KID was crowded ba fc at the start and was pulled up. then showed Ha* peed. but the effort ; to get to tin- leaders told on him and at the end he tired. THOMASINE passed PERMANENT WAVE into the lead on the back stretch and drew far away to win in a canter. DIOGENES ran well and passed PERMANENT WAVE in the stretch drive. The latter began fast and set the early pace, but tired badly. CHINK ran well but also tired in the final drive. TURNBERRY finished well.
