NEXT FEATURE AT DOWNS Crack Field to Contest Grainger Memorial Handicap to Be Run Next Saturday. LOUISVILLE. Ky.. May 18.— With the Kentucky Derby now history, the attention of racegoers and horsemen here is turned towards the rich Grainger Memorial Handicap, which will have its annual renewal at Churchill Downs next Saturday. This stake formerly run as the Kentucky Handicap, is at one mile and a quarter, and has an endowment of 0,000. It closed with a list of 74 nominations, Including the cream of the handicap division, both East and West. The race, however, will be largely confined to horses of Western ownership. The great Sarazen, now at the peak of his form is assigned top weight, of 1,14 pounds. It is not likely that the four-year-old, son of High Time and Bush Box, may be sent West to make a try for the rich prize. The more probable starters include Spic and Span, winner of the Clark Handicap, Captain Hal, Princess Doreen, Lee O. Cotner, Chacolet, Hopeless, Almadel, Nassau, Honor, Beau Butler, Sunspero, Starbeck, Stanwix, King Nadi, and Kentucky Cardinal. Unfortunately, Dan Scotts game colt. Son of John, is not included in the list of eligibles.
