JUDGE MURPHY IN THE EAST NEW YORK, N. T., June 1.— Joseph A. Murphy, general manager of the Chicago Iu-iness Mens Racing Association, was a Belmont visitor. He said he would remain in New York until Wednesday, when he will return to Chicago. Already many nominations have been made by New York horsemen for the Hawthorne stakes and Mr. Murphy will undoubtedly obtain many in in before th- end of his visit. He was particularly enthusiastic over the prospects for the J Hawthorne meeting, which is to open July 2.
