SUN LADY IN FRONT Daughter of Sun Briar Home First in Auroras Main Race Secondary Feature to Royal Charlie Sequel Makes It a Double for Brackman Stable AURORA 111 June IS Frank Farrar scored his first victory of the meeting when his Sun Briar filly Sun Lady was home in front of the bsst field of the day at Exposi ¬ tion Park Alleden Avhich won at a long price the other day was second with Statler taking third place by a wide margin Myrtle Belle and Honest Mose finished far back in the order named After quite a post delay they were away to a good start and Myrtle Belle beginning from an inside position took command with the rest in a bunch slightly behind her Honest Mose soon dropped out of it and Myrtle Belle was still in front at the turn for home with Statler in second position The real racing began at this stage and Myrtle Belle bsgan to tire Midway of the stretch Statler went to the front but Sun Lady and Alleden were just starting to race and fifty yards out they both passed Statler with Sun Lady a couple of lengths in advance It was in this manner that they raced to the end with Schaefer pushing on Sun Lady to make certain there would be no mistake as Alleden was racing j steady Myrtle Belle showed some of the speed which she displayed at Miami last win ¬ ter and probably needed this race to key her up for her best performance performanceTRACK TRACK MUCH IMPROVED IMPROVEDA A crowd of goodly proportions attended attendedand and the afternoon was perfect for the sport The racing strip was drying out fast and andwas was in much better condition than yesterday yesterdayalthough although still slow I J W Brackmans Royal Charlie accounted for the fourth race which was the secondary feature of the day Peggy O was second and Trapnet third The winner was outrun to the stretch turn the other four running in a bunch At this stage Peggy O started to bear out and Heberts efforts to keep her herIn In were useless Duty Boy had obtained a aslight slight advantage and Dingo was dropping droppingback back Midway of the stretch Pichon on onI Royal Charlie started to make his move and ncaring the finishing line went to the front and managed to last long enough to beat Peggy O The latter showed a winning race She raced on the extreme outside all through the stretch and finished going fastest of all next the outside fence Trapnet tired slightly after getting to the front while Duty Boy and Dingo also tired in the run home homeJ J W Brackman won his second purse of the day when the gray mare Sequel carried his colors to victory in the closing race She was away well and raced in second position for a quarter then dropped back to fourth but came around her rivals entering the stretch and scored handily Scratch made up a lot of ground to beat Annie j yle by a head for second place place3IARY 3IARY CONNORS BY NECK NECKi i Mary Connors under a good ride by R Harrington got up in time to snatch the verdict in the initial race by a neck Black Angel was second and Lady Allen third Seven twoyearolds faced the starter in this contest and Sobrose was away the fastest In the short run to the first turn Black Angel moved up on the outside and rounding the turn took command leading until five yards from the finish where Mary Connors caught him He was a handy second however with Lady Allen finishing fast iiv s the center of the track to take third place from Wild Bee Sobrose quit badly and finished last I Winnie O Wynn showed a far better per ¬ formance on the drying out track today than she did in the mud yesterday and was vie tress in the second race a fiveeighths dash She came from behind the pacemaker in the stretch and taking command nearing the finishing line held Kubale safe Kubale raced prominently until midway of the stretch then dropped back slightly but came again and was a fastgoing second Royal George tired badly after setting the pace and was third a short distance in front of Queen Agnes The third race brought together a band of cheap sprinters and the winner came from an unexpected quarter as Gold Grafton a maiden whicli had been beaten off in all his previous starts was victorious He took coin mand turning out of the back stretch and held sway throughout although hard riddon to hold Straight Shot safe Martha Moore which was the medium of heavy speculation ran a bad race and just got up in time to take third place from Pacific PacificLong Long distance performers had their first chance of the day in the sixth race and a aj j field of six answered the bugle call Mac O Boy was the winner by a neck from Red Squirrel with Clock Stocking third six lengths back of the leaders and a nose in front of Seths Alibi Doughoregan and Famous Blue were beaten off
