I SHIPMENTS TO HAWTHORNE j Many Stables Expected Here in inNext Next Few Days r Derby Din Dinner Dinr ner Monday Evening Shipments of horses to Hawthorne aro under way from all points and by the first of next week the course will present a busy scene The pretentious string of G Frank Croissant in charge of Mose Shapoff and j which contains the Derby candidate Ken 1 tucky Cardinal will reach the course on Monday The stable is twentyfour strong and promises to cut a big figure in the racing of the summer With the close of the Omaha meeting the stables of Ben Jones and Frisco Hoag will be shipped direct to the track Jn the Hoag string is the good handcap horse Phusla which may be one of the stars of the i I coming meeting The Swcnke Vivaudou and Bostwick strings will be shipped from New j York the middle of next week and the Ken tucky shipment will begin to move immedi ¬ ately after the Latonia Derby is run next week weekThe The annual Derby dinner of the Business Mens Racing Association will be held at the Rainbo Gardens on Monday next June 22 The association will be the guest of Fred Mann the proprietor of the Gardens who is one of the real enthusiasts on racing in the city A special entertainment has been ar I ranged and covers will bo set for over a hundred people which will include many members of the Hawthorne Club Mr Mann has tendered the association the use of the Gardens band at any lime during the season that it is wanted
