ACTIVITY AT HAWTHORNE Horses Arriving From All Points Track Open for Public Inspec ¬ tion Sunday Officials Here The Hawthorne race track is fairly bustling with activity these days With horses arriv ¬ ing every hour from all points and with a big force of workmen putting the finishing touches on the track there is no more active scene in Chicago than at the track trackThe The close of the workday Saturday found everything spic and span and racing could start at the course today The management announced Saturday that the track would be open for inspection Sunday and the public was invited to see the many improvements that have been made madeRacing Racing secretary Joseph McLennan is ex ¬ pected here Monday and as John Carey will also be here from Omaha and Francis Dunne from Aurora the track offices will be open and the registration of horses and the taking of applications for trainers and jockeys li ¬ censes will be started at once Entries to the Inaugural Handicap with 2500 added will close on Tuesday and a high class field is assured for the contest contestEverything Everything points to a banner meeting and the downtown office of the association is flooded daily with letters and telegrams from people announcing that they will bo here from distant points and asking reserva ¬ tions for Derby and other big days daysThe The horses stabled at Aurora have been shipped over in small consignments during the week and the remainder will be brought over today or tomorrow It is expected by Wednesday that every stall on the grounds will be filled
