The conditions were not the best for the gallop. The track was sprinkled the night before, and was somewhat slower than earlier in the week. At no stage, of the journey was he extended, and finished out with speed in reserve. Alec Cordon had the horses of Bud Fisher, which recently arrived from Louis-ville, on the track early. The horses were Riven useful exercise, while no attempt was made for speed. Banton. the good three-year-old, is looked upon as a certain starter in the Preakness at Pimlico.
