SUKY began slowly, but improved her position rapidly on the outside and. racing KATHLEEN CROSBY into defeat, finished fast and was slowly drawing clear in the final sixteenth. KATHLEEN CROSBY passed WAYFAIR in the first three-eighths and raced into the lead, but her weight told on her when the final drive came. DANGER SIGNAL made up ground fast from a slow beginning and finished with a belated rush on the outside. GYMKHANA and TIN HAT were close up in the early running, but tired when called on for the drive. BROWN STOlT raced into a pocket shortly after the start and fell. CEYLON PRINCE raced close up from the start and. coming fast through the stretch, wore the leaders down steadily and got up to win in the final seventy yards. COGWHEEL made- up ground after reaching the back stretch and raced into the lead, but was crowded when KINC SOLOMONS SEAL swerved over against him at the eighth post and tired right at the end. MARTHA WASHINGTON finished gamely next to the inner rail. KING SOLOMONS SEAL tired and swerved in the stretch, but finished gamely. BEAU OF THE WEST was sharply taken up on the first turn and again at the eighth post. CHINK had no mishaps. There was considerable rough riding in the race. Scratched— 12843=Kathleen Crosby. MARS, away well, worked his way into the lead, when reaching the far turn, then kept the pace fast and, racing resolutely when the final drive came, outfinished DISPLAY. The latter made up ground rapidly on the outside and, making a game finish, was slowly wearing the winner down. EDISTO u -an flat footed and was far back in the early running, but secured clear passage and closed an immense gap. to finish fast. HELENS BABE was in a forward position when going to the- first turn, hut was taken back, then ran a good race and would have been closer up with a stronger rider. DAN;EKOIS. also, closed a big gap. JOY SMOKE moved up menacingly, while rounding the far turn, but quit in the last eighth. AMBEIUACK quit. SINGLE FOOT tired early. SARAZEN was never close up. MIRACLE was outpaced in the early running, but made up ground rapidly on the back atrete-h, came on the outside of the leaders entering the home stretch and passed DIGNTS into a clear lead, but tired in the last sixteenth and had to be ridden to the limit to withstand the rush of JOCK. The latter raced in closest pursuit, but was e-ut off when he attempted to come through on the inside at the head of the stretch, then finished gamely and would have won in a few more- strides. OOLDEN VOTE finished resolutely through the last quarter. SKEDADDLE passed tired horses in the stretch. D1GNCS raced into a long early lead and saved ground on the turns, but quit badly after leading for seven-eighths. GUERDON showed speed on the back stretch.
