LINCOLN FIELDS PROGRESS PROGRESSExtensive Extensive Improvements to Be BeCompleted Completed Shortly Over 200 200Horses Horses at Homewood LOUISVILLE Ky May 21 Tom Young track superintendent at Churchill Downs and Lincoln Fields returned from the latter track this morning thoroughly satisfied that extensive improvements being made to the Illinois course will be completed within the next thirty days He reports the spacious addition to the grandstand about 50 per cent completed and work on other improvements as far advanced Several new stables are contemplated and arrangements for their construction probably will be closed in the next few days daysMr Mr Young found more than 200 horses in quarters at Washington Park and several stables at Lincoln Fields The stable room at both tracks has been assigned and in an effort to provide stalls for additional ap ¬ plicants the new barns will be constructed
