« * HAVRE DE GRACE NOTES T e # HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., April 19. Harry Giddings, who has in training one of the largest bands quartered at the Woodbine, is here in search of a rider. A. L. Wynstone, whose colors were carried by Thorn Blossom on the Canadian circuit last season, was another arrival from Toronto. W. J. Salmons handicap horse Display will make his first effort of the year when he goes to the post in the Philadelphia Handicap on Saturday. That is, providing the track remains fast. Flagship, programmed as a starter in the second race tomorrow, will race in the name and colors of J. B. Boyle. Johnny Maiben packed his grip and left for New York last night to be on hand for the opening of the United Hunts meeting today. He will return Friday night to ride in the Philadelphia Handicap at Havre de Grace on Saturday. Mose Goldblatt was a visitor. He came on from Kentucky to confer with James Rowe about the shipment of the Harry Payne Whitney horses which will be raced in the West this year. Clarence Turner announced that all of the horses he raced at Tijuana last winter have been turned out on his farm and will not be taken up until next spring. In the meantime Turner is busy galloping horses, getting in shape for the Chicago meeting where he contemplates riding this summer. Lincoln Plaut, who compiles form charts on most of Kentucky and Chicago tracks, was a visitor today. He will return to Lexington for the opening of that meeting. Harlan, winner of the third race Wednesday, was claimed for J. Simmons for ,500. J. McGee is making an effort to purchase the contract that T. J. Donohue holds on the good apprentice S. H. Little. Patricia J., which cut one of the smaller veins in her leg after pulling up in a fast workout at Bowie ten days ago, is back in training again. She showed a three-eighths trial this morning in :36. Louis Angevine, secretary of the Montreal Jockey Club, is expected here today to confer with Mortimer Mahoney and the horsemen who contemplate racing at Blue Bonnets this spring. Harry Cooper has taken over the S. W. Labrot horses that were formerly handled by R. E. Potts. There are seven two-year-olds and the four-year-old Flitter Mouse in the band. The Woodlawn Stable has arranged to ship from Pim.ico to the Woodbine at the conclusion of the Pimlico meeting and trainer Daly has nominated the two-year-old My Sis in all of the Canadian stakes. Dr. J. F. Adams is another horseman who will race on the Canadian circuit. He has nominated J. Fred A. for the Toronto Cup. The Maryland Racing Commission has granted a trainers license to S. R. Zipf, whose application had been tabled at its previous meeting. Jockey II. Fisher has joined forces with the Audley Farm Stable and will ride for the division of that stable which is handled by Miller Henderson. Rail Parr has acquired, by private purchase of F. W. Armstrong, the two-year-old filly Highland Fling. The latter is from Hiker, a mare which raced in the Parr colors for many seasons. The body of jockey O. Bourassa. was shipped to Montreal Wednesday for interment. The widow, Mrs. Lillian Bourassa, and the lads agent. -Charles Hagen, accompanied the remains to Canada. * ,
