BLUE LARKSPUR BLUE LARKSPUR STARTS TODAY r M t Jf M JELaJL JJL KJkJki A JL L s JL JL AJ1 m JL U A J A Jk A Fuiure Pcok Favorite for Kentucky Derby to Make 1929 Debut With Clyde Van Dusen Among Opponents LEXINGTON Ky April 24 Contrary to previous announcement regarding the campaigning of Blue Larkspur E R Bradleys favorite in the future betting on the impending Kentucky Derby will make his bow as a threeyearold in an allow ¬ ance race at one mile and seventy yards here tomorrow H J Thompson trainer of the racer this morning named his star and the maiden threeyearold Bay Beauty also owned by Mr Bradley for tomor ¬ rows race and announced that if the track is fast both horses will go to the post postThey They will be opposed by H P Gardners Clyde Van Dusen second choice in the ad ¬ vance betting on the Derby Desha Breck inridges Lord Braedalbane H P Headleys Sandy Shore C H Knebelkamps McGonigle and London Pride owned by J N Cainden but raced by D E Stewart StewartUnder Under the conditions of the race Blue Lark ¬ spur and Clyde Van Dusen will meet at equal weights of 115 pounds while Lord Braedalbane Sandy Shore and McGonigle carry 111 pounds and Bay Beauty and Lon ¬ don Pride both maidens get in with 107 pounds poundsIn In a statement this morning trainer Thomp ¬ son said that both Blue Larkspur and Bay Beauty had been training so well that Mr Bradley decided to avail them of the first opportunity to race in competition over a fast track Previously Mr Bradley had in ¬ tended to start Blue Larkspur for the first time this year in a condition race at one mile and a sixteenth here on May 2 Yester ¬ day Blue Larkspur is said to have breezed a mile in 145 over a dull track at Idle Hour Farm and this fine move combined with a near spectacular previous trial assured Thompson that the Derby favorite is in very satisfactory condition for his debut debutThompson Thompson has engaged Earl Pool to ride Blue Larkspur while A Coleman is to guide Bay Beauty C McCrosson will have the mount on Clyde Van Dusen with V Crump on Lord Braedalbane and L McDennott on Sandy Shore Riders for London Pride and McGonigle have not been selected up to late this afternoon
