ARRAY lost ground, moved up resolutely at the stretch turn and raced evenly thereafter. FILL IN quit after three-quarters. PRINCE ASCOT was weakly ridden. SKIDMORE began fast, but dropped out of it on the first turn and failed to respond when hard urged. CHARLIE BILLS was cut off on the second turn. DIZZY began very slowly and lacked speed. CRESCENT CITY was badly outrun under a weak ride. NYACK saved much ground early, went to the outside in the stretch and closed resolutely. REPROOF, always hard ridden, was a factor, but tired. BURGOO, in close quarters shortly after the start, lacked speed when clear. OUTCRY showed early speed. HYMAN began fast, followed the early pacemaker under light restraint until reaching the stretch and, coming through on the inside, maintained good speed to the end and won without need of pressure. ABDEL, forced to race wide throughout and, hard ridden in the final five-sixteenths, went around SUPREME SWEET and, while closing resolutely, did not threaten the winner. SUPREME SWEET showed good speed while holding the lead, but tired in the later stages. TWILL had no mishaps. HARLEM closed fast. DEFIER .was outrun. CRYSTAL PRINCE, allowed to remain far back until the final three-eighths, challenged gamely, caused much crowding in the final fifty yards and, though tiring, lasted and was disqualified for fouling. JIMMY SUTRO, close up throughout, lost ground on the stretch turn and closed resolutely. SPRINGSTEEL worked his way into the lead entering the stretch and was holding on stubbornly when crowded into the rail near the end. BERTJOHN responded well in the final quarter and was interfered with near the end. FLAUNT showed speed, bore out slightly and was quitting when crowded back. CHENE saved much ground in the stretch and held on well in an even effort. STONE MARTIN, under steadying reserve for five-eighths, held the lead briefly, when entering the stretch and faltered under his impost when urged hard. GETTIN EVEN quit.
