BURNING BLAZE IN WORKOUT Gallops Five Furlongs in 1:06 At Lexington Greely Pleased With Present Condition. LEXINGTON, Ky., March 21. The Shan-don Farms Kentucky Derby colt, Burning Blaze, took to the Kentucky Association track this morning and breezed five-eighths in 1:06. With his trainer, J. J. Greely, and R. E. Nash, one of the owners of the Shan-don Farm string, watching from the infield, Burning Blaze went the first quarter in :26, three-eighths in :40, half-mile in :53, and five-eighths in 1:06. Others who held a watch on the son of Big Blaze caught j him as much as a second faster. He was pulled up at the end of the three-quarters in 1:20, Burning Blaze was well in advance of his work mate, Grand Prince, and was under restraint 1 all the way. He ran easily and 1 pulled up in excellent condition. Mr. Greely. 1 who recently took the colt over from trainer John B. Partridge, expressed himself as very much pleased with the present condition of Burning - Blaze. He is shipping the colt to Churchill Downs, Louisville, Tuesday to continue his preparations for the Kentucky : Derby. Along with him will go all the other i members of the Shandon Farm string.
