LATONIA PROGRAM BOOKS List of Races for First Seven of Thirty-One Days Meeting Beginning June 25. LATONIA, Ky., June 14. Condition books for the first seven days of the thirty-one day spring Latonia meeting, starting here Saturday, June 25, were distributed among horsemen today. The book is the work of William H. Shelley, who serves as racing secretary at the tracks of the American Turf Association. Although the state racing commission allows the Latonia management a minimum purse of 00 with a meeting average of 00, the conditions for the first seven days calls for a distribution of four ,000 purses and three 00, with the exception of stake days when there will be two 00 purses. In addition to the ,000 added Clipsetta Stakes, for twoVyear-old fillies, at five and one-half furlongs, the opening days program calls for a secondary attraction in the Licking Valley Handicap at six furlongs. The opening race is a medium price claiming dash for three-year-olds and "over at six furlongs, while the second event is devoted to two-year-old maidens. The third race is at a mile and one-sixteenth for cheap platers with the fourth serving as the handicap. The Hosedale, an allowance affair for three-year-olds and over, at one mile and seventy yards, serves as the sixth with the better grade from the claiming class from the same division engaging in the seventh race at the same distance. During the first seven days there will be two stakes decided, the Clipsetta on opening day and the Latonia Derby on the following Saturday, or July 2. Out of forty-nine races programed for the first week, fourteen are devoted to two-year-olds, while five handicaps are listed. That those from the claiming division will come in for a good share of the purses is shown by the twenty-five races given over to those from the claiming ranks with two of the races claiming handicaps. .
