SANTA CREST went to the outside of the leader in the stretch and outgamed TOE DANCE. The latter was steadied along in front, but was unable to withstand the closing- challenge of the winner. SABANA held on well in the drive. EASTER DANDY, unruly at the post, was rushed up in the first quarter and was unable to improve his position thereafter. The latter took a good lead when BALD CREST tired, but could not withstand the winner. MYTHICAL LORE closed gamelv. BALD CREST tired after going into a good lead. HIDDEN CITY tired in the stretch. MUSKOGEE was close to THISTLE JOHN, challenged gamely after taking the last jump, but was not good enough. DRAGON DE VERTU, permitted to drop back of the pace, finished gamely.
