LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS ] M. Parke continued to gain slightly on L. Humphries for the lead of American jockeys last week, riding four winners and pass- ing the ninety mark. Humphries closed the week with a total of ninety-seven winners and the contest between this pair promises to be very keen from now on. W. D. Wright held on to third place by riding three winners but his position seems to be endangered by the recent success of F. Springer and J. Westrope. Springer rode nine winners and ran his total up to seventy-three while Westrope was successful with eight mounts and his total at the end of the week was seventy-two. E. Arcaro and S. Coucci passed the sixty mark by riding eight winners each. J. Gilbert had a good week with nine winners. Records of the thirty-one leaders follow: Per Last Jockey.
