The latter began fast, was rated close to the leaders and finished resolutely. KINGS BOUNTY, hard urged to secure a forward position, tired in the final drive. ROCKROMA, slow to get going, worked his way up on the outside. PERTOXICAL tired after racing strongly in the early stages. CANDY MAN tired. MERELY, hard urged to take command, showed good speed while saving ground and, shaken up stoutly entering the stretch, lasted just long enough under stiff pressure. SPEED GIRL, a factor throughout, was repeatedly bumped by KIEVA in the stretch, only for which she may have been winner. KIEVA, in the thick of contention throughout, held on willingly. GEORGIA LILY, hard ridden from the start, held on well. SONG HIT was hard handled all the way and closed gamely. CRACKLE swung to the outside and finished Tesolutely. INDICATIVE tired from his early efforts. LULLABY II. fell back quickly. CAPSHEAF dwelt at the start and was never a factor. ALL FORLORN was held safe. The latter, in closest pursuit throughout, finished gamely. PIECEMEAL, saved early, finished gamely when urged. TRY IT worked his way up on the outside, but could not threaten the leaders. JUST IMAGINE raced well. MAEBEE was held safe. STAR quit. Scratched 85264 Fair Bill, 111; 84724 Lord Cardigan, 106. POWDER MONKEY drew abreast of the leader in the stretch, took a short lead, but could not withstand the winner. MEMPHIS LASS was used up racing with MAEANTIC and tired. BOLD BENDIGO finished resolutely. FAIR DAWN began slowly out of hand and would not extend herself. s TRYON tired, as did MAEANTIC. Scratched 85399Polyp, 109. Overweight Canterwood, 1 pound. Won driving; second and third the same. x REFINER, showing much improvement and restrained in the early stages, reached the leaders rapidly and, wearing AYMOND down, was going away under pressure. AYMOND, racing close up, displaced SILVER TAIL when ready, out was unable to stall off the winner. BETHANKFUL raced evenly all the way.- PAT GAIETY was outrun. STAR CREST showed a disgraceful effort after his last race and his performance should not be considered. SILVER TAIL was done early. Scratched 853953 Zel, 106.
