1 THISTLE DOWN PARK NOTES Recent jockey arrivals here include: T. Mauro, J. King, H. Osborne, C. Smith, M. Verbus, J. Cowley and E. R-ehm. Buddy Glass, jockey room custodian, has a total of eighty riders registered to date. The veteran, Joe1 Sylvester, set the pace for last week. Donald Taylor, under contract to Dave Hum, a crack rider himself back in 1921, is regarded a real riding prospect. He is a native of Oklahoma. Tom Smith, Aurora track manager who races a string of horses, has Charlie Mills in tow and this boy is showing up well. Jake Manale registered four horses. Burgoo, Sunny Sideup, Mae Watkins and Jargon. Starter "Buddy" Wingfield has the following horses on the schooling list: Transfix, Mavro, Rose Dreams, Corida, Princess Volta, Tarpon, Beckville, Justa Flapper, Grey Belle, Armageddon. Tommy McGinty, general manager of Bainbridge, was a visitor. McGinty, who is nationally known as a fight promoter, stages the transcontinental bike race in the stadium on August 21. Billy Evans, general manager of the Cleveland ball club and a national figure in baseball, was a visitor to the clubhouse. Lonnie Hendricks has resumed riding after a five-day suspension.
