WHITNEY AND SWOPE ON NEW YORK COMMISSION ALBANY N Y April 30 Secretary of State Edward J Flynn who is in New York this afternoon officially announced the fol ¬ lowing as members of the new state racing commission commissionHerbert Herbert Bayard Swope for the sixyear term John Hay Whitney the fouryear term and John Sloane the twoyearterm The latter has been selected as the secre ¬ tary of the commission commissionThe The new commission will meet tomorrow morning at the New York office at 11 oclock to organize and formulate its duties ii connection with its supervision of the horse racing industry in New York state These appointments it was announced have received the approval of Governor Lehman
