JOE STERN DIES SUDDENLY NEW YORK N Y May 21 Joe Stern veteran horseman who raced Gun Royal and other horses in recent years died suddenly Saturday afternoon of a heart attack Stern attended the races Saturday and left after the running of the Metropolitan He took his cousins children to a dog show in which they had an entry Driving home after the show he reached Rego Park on the way to his home and complained of not feeling well A minute or two later he slumped over the wheel and his cousin had presence of mind to bring the car to a stop A passing doctor examined him and pronounced him dead Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning
