ALEX GORDON SIGNED FOR YEAR LEXINGTON Ky July 30 Alex B Gordon has been engaged for a period of one year to train the horses of young Elmer Dale Shaffer son of Charles B Shaffer master of Coldstream Stud according to word received here from Dr John Baird Coldstream manager now in Chicago Gor ¬ don has developed from this years crop of twoyearolds turned over to him from Cold stream the high class St Bernard one of the first foals sired by Bull Dog full brother to Sir Gallahad IIL St Bernard was nar ¬ rowly beaten in the Arlington Futurity and now looms as favorite for some of the later fixtures for twoyearolds
