JAMAICA TURF NOTES I s Jack Dempsey was a first-time visitor and remained for the six-race program. Edward J. Garrell, well known New York hotel man, deserted Times Square for the afternoon and witnessed the days racing as a guest of George Reardon. Bob Smith returned from Havre de Grace, where he saddled the Brookmeade Stables pair in the Aberdeen. P. J. Ragen, one of the old guard, is recovering from a serious operation, and his friends hope that he will be back within the month.
